I had a wonderful and full visit to the Bay Area in California, saw family, friends, and lots of yarn. I gave the Emerald Blue Malabrigo scarf to my childhood friend who has had such a rough summer. The scarf was too narrow and too long, but she kindly loved it anyway.
In the spirit of friendship and making do, I hereby present one way to wear a long, narrow scarf that one of your hapless knitting friends—such as myself—might knit for you:

I’m recovering from all the travel and traffic, so I’ll write more about the California yarn shops I visited later.
