Sahara in process

I have been working on Sahara by Stitch Diva lately and am enjoying the well-written pattern. Although I want the sweater to be fitted, I would rather it wasn’t quite as tight as it seems to be on those lovely models. So I’ll be trying it on regularly.

The yarn is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted in berry, a deep fuschia color that I would normally never buy except my LYSO tricked me by marking it half price. She is very cunning. I bought all she had. I know that no one else ever does this.

Anyway, the yarn has slight variations of color in it, and hopefully if I wear a neutral color underneath the finished sweater, the fuschia will be okay. At least I tell myself that.

I took this project for my first visit to a knitting group. And I discovered that I have difficulty knitting and talking at the same time. Even listening intently will slow my knitting down. All right, even breathing. I mosey along in my knitting.

So I didn’t get a lot done but met some very nice people. And I figured out that a M1R is the same as a M1B. And I can remember that because both “right” and “rear” (i.e., back) begin with the letter “r.”

It’s just like my bicycle brakes; the right-hand brakes control the rear braking system.

Any memory trick I can actually remember is a good one.
