The not-so-swift swift

First, a follow-up on the slowing of the swift. I looked more closely at a rivet on the damaged area of the swift and discovered the problem:

I’m not sure what Yarn Bazaar will have to say about that. They have not gotten back to me yet with an answer. I treat my swift with kid gloves; it has its own special sleeping place inside a cabinet when it’s not in use.
In the meantime, I finished the scarf for Cliff. I love the way it turned out . . . nice pattern by Lion Brand. And it’s done while my husband can still wear it this season.
I usually prefer to knit with bright colors, but I loved the richness of the earth tones in this scarf.

Pattern: Reversible Cable Scarf by Lion Brand
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted, color Pioneer (color is true in the second photo)
My aim right now is to finish some of these projects before I begin another one. I may not be able to stop myself from casting on, but I’ll try my best to complete at least one more item before I do so.
I am finally getting a foothold in writing the novel that I abandoned two years ago (about 1/5 of the way into it) when I was confronted with some difficult life transitions.
Here is my buddy. He is currently sleeping on my forearm. He doesn’t seem to mind my arm movements, although his head bounces as I type.

A swift should last a lot longer than 9 months or they wouldn’t be able to sell any, let us know what yarn bazaar says.
