Malabrigo resurrected

I just rescued this lovely scarf from hibernation. I had put it away because I was tired of following the written directions. It’s the Elongated Diamond Pattern from Barbara Walker’s first Treasury of Knitting Patterns. Her directions are abbreviated for space purposes (as most patterns are), but I just didn’t enjoy knitting this scarf from the directions anymore, although I love the Malabrigo yarn.
Once I decided that the written directions were the problem, I created a chart in Excel and am much happier knitting on this project now. The chart is in my own weird format (not standard), but it works for me.
And to think I used to avoid charts; I prefer them now. If you squint a bit, you can see the pattern on the chart. I am blazing away on this scarf now and will finish it soon. The yarn color is “Molly.”

I wonder if you would share the chart you made with me. I like the pattern!
