Clapotis: the return

I’ve been trying to find a stole pattern that was mindless enough that I could knit while watching TV—and not terribly lacy since I want the warmth. After endless searching, I came back to the good ol’ Clapotis. The pattern is a cinch to memorize. I was bored with the repetition the first time I made it, but this time I’m fine with the rhythm and the mindlessness of all those rows.
I don’t know what that says about my state of mind.
You can see in the lower right of the photo that I’ve started dropping stitches—a few moments of recurring fun in this pattern.
I’m using Misti Alpaca (for the warmth) hand-dyed worsted, color Reds 03. I’ve added two more increase sections so this stole will hopefully go down to my waist without blocking. My first Clapotis is beautiful as an evening stole or a graceful scarf, but this time I’m going for the cuddle factor.
