Needle storage

I have a set of Knitpicks Options needles, which are my first choice. I also have a set of Denise needles for the rare project that needs more grip in the needles. My non-Options non-Denise needles are in pencil keepers, which are bound in a 3-ring binder (that holds 8-1/2 x 11″ paper) as shown below:

  Size 3 needles

  Size 15 straights

The cables aren’t coiled too tightly because the pencil holders are nice and roomy, and everything stays together because each pencil holder zips up at the side. The pencil keepers are usually about 89 cents each, but if you catch a sale as I did, you can buy them two for a dollar.

Mostly I used Knitpicks Options. But I have Knitpicks in sizes 1-3 in this binder since they don’t come in interchangeables. And I have my Addis in here as well.

I used to keep all my needles in a big two-gallon plastic bag, but I got annoyed with that really fast. When you’re inspired to begin knitting, there’s no time to untangle needles and try to find the right size. You just gotta grab and go for it!
