It feels so good . . .

. . . to get that lone ball of Trendsetter Yosemite out of my stash! It’s funky yarn in great colors, but because of its thick & thin quality, I had difficulty finding the right project for it. I tried a scarf last year and frogged it, then let the ball sit in my stash for many months. Finally, I found Lauren on Ravelry who had made a cute hat with her Yosemite yarn, and I thought I’d give it a try.

I do love the hat and am wearing it now, although admittedly it makes me look like a granny. It’s very comfy (no ribbing and almost no negative ease, so it’s more like a cap) and fun to wear and has a nice texture that none of my other knitting has. The thicker parts of this yarn are roving and the thinnest parts are like string. Very “interesting” to knit with, sort of artsy and tactile.
This is what was left over so you can see the yarn texture and thickness:

I ordered some Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted yesterday for a cable scarf for Cliff. He’s off to Italy tomorrow on business. Maybe I’ll receive the yarn and be able to cast on before he returns.
