FO: Hat for DD

I finally got my daughter home during Thanksgiving week so she could give her opinion on yarn. She gave the thumbs up for the alpaca, and I finished a toasty-warm hat for her. Yarn: Knitpicks Andean Treasure; colors: Summer Sky and Lilac (two strands held together).

I cut it pretty close. I had one ball of each color, and this is what’s left:
Yikes!
I used size 7 needles, which is probably a little small for this gauge (3.5 st=1″). But the hat is lovely, soft, surprisingly drapey, and warm. (We need the warmth here in the Denver area.) DD is happy.
